Snoria (“the app”, “we”) is an on-device snore recorder and insights app for iPhone developed by Vladyslav Prykhodko. This policy explains what Snoria does — and does not do — with your information.
The short version
Your night stays on your device. Snoria listens with Apple’s on-device sound analysis, scores your snoring, and keeps short clips of the loud moments — all on your iPhone. Your audio and recordings are never uploaded to us, and there is no account, no sign-in, and no server holding your data.
To improve the app, Snoria collects anonymous, aggregate usage analytics about how the app itself is used — never your audio, never your recordings, and nothing that identifies you. You can turn this off anytime in Settings ▸ Privacy. We do not run advertising and do not track you across other companies’ apps. Details are below.
What Snoria records, and where it stays
To score a night, Snoria needs to listen to the room while you sleep. This is handled only on your device:
- Detection runs on-device using Apple’s
SoundAnalysis. The live audio stream is analyzed in real time and is not saved as a raw recording and not uploaded. - Snoria keeps only short, compressed clips of the loud episodes it flags (so you can listen back), not the whole night. These clips are trimmed automatically by the retention setting you choose, and you can delete them at any time.
- Your Snore Score, episode timeline, and the nightly factors you log (such as alcohol, a late meal, congestion, sleeping position, mouth tape, or a wedge pillow) are stored locally on your iPhone.
- Everything Snoria stores is removed when you delete the app, and “Delete all recordings” in Settings wipes your nights and their audio on demand.
iCloud sync (optional, and only your own iCloud)
If you turn on iCloud sync, Snoria mirrors your nights to your own private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit private database) so they appear on your other devices. In that case:
- The data is stored in your iCloud account, under your Apple ID, and counts against your iCloud storage. We have no access to it and no server of our own.
- Sync is governed by Apple’s iCloud privacy terms.
- If sync is off, your data stays only on the device.
Permissions
- Microphone — to listen to the room and detect snoring while you sleep. Snoria also records audio in the background (screen locked) so the night isn’t lost.
- Notifications — optional, for a morning reminder/result nudge. You can decline or turn it off any time.
- Photos (add only) — only used if you choose to save a share report image to your photo library. Snoria does not read or browse your photos.
You can change or revoke these in Settings ▸ Privacy & Security.
Diagnostic logs (support only)
Snoria keeps a small, plain-text diagnostic log on the device (timings, states, and error codes — never any audio) so that if a night fails, the cause can be found the next morning. This log:
- Stays on your phone. It is never uploaded automatically.
- Is shared only when you choose to — via Settings ▸ Help & Support ▸ “Share logs with support” — so you can send it to us to fix a bug.
Analytics and diagnostics
Snoria uses two privacy-respecting services — PostHog (product analytics) and Sentry (crash and error reporting) — to collect anonymous, aggregate information so we can fix problems and decide what to improve:
- Usage data — for example which screens are viewed and in-app events such as starting a recording, finishing a night, or opening the paywall (counts and timings, not content).
- Diagnostics — app version, iOS version, and device model.
- Crash & error reports — when the app crashes or hits an error, an anonymous report (stack trace, device/OS, and a breadcrumb trail of recent in-app events) so we can fix it — never your audio or recordings.
What this data never includes:
- Your audio, your recordings, your clips, or your Snore Scores’ raw audio.
- Your name, email, contacts, or precise location.
This data is anonymous — it is not linked to your identity, is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and is never used for advertising. It carries no advertising identifier (so the app shows no tracking prompt). You can turn analytics off completely in Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Share anonymous analytics.
Purchases
The Snoria Pro subscription is processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Snoria does not receive or store your payment details. Apple’s handling of the purchase is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.
Not a medical app
Snoria is a consumer recorder and insights app. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose sleep apnea or any other condition. Nothing in the app is medical advice.
Children
Snoria is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone.
