Tidy (“the app”, “we”) is a photo-storage cleaner for iPhone developed by Vladyslav Prykhodko. This policy explains what Tidy does — and does not do — with your information.
The short version
Tidy collects no personal data. Nothing leaves your device. Your photos and videos are analyzed entirely on your iPhone. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no third-party tracking. We cannot see your library, your usage, or anything else about you.
Photos and videos
To find recoverable space (duplicates, screenshots, similar shots, large videos, blurry photos, and so on), Tidy needs access to your photo library. That access is used only on your device:
- Photos and videos are read locally to generate small on-device signatures (e.g. perceptual hashes and Vision feature prints) used to group and rank them.
- No photo, video, thumbnail, or derived signature is ever uploaded, transmitted, or shared. All processing happens on your iPhone.
- When you choose to delete items, Tidy uses Apple’s standard Photos deletion. Deleted items go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where you can restore them for 30 days. Converting a Live Photo to a still keeps the still image.
You can grant full or limited photo access, or revoke it at any time, in Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Photos.
Data stored on your device
Tidy stores the following locally on your iPhone only, to make scans faster and to show your progress:
- A cache of the on-device signatures described above (so re-scans are quick).
- Your preferences (appearance, haptics, scan-on-launch, reminders).
- A lifetime “space freed” tally and the list of photos you chose to keep.
This data never leaves the device and is removed when you delete the app.
Purchases
If Tidy offers a one-time purchase (Tidy Pro), the transaction is processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Tidy does not receive or store your payment details. Apple’s handling of the purchase is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.
Notifications
If you enable cleanup reminders, Tidy schedules local notifications on your device. No notification data is sent to any server.
Analytics, tracking, and crash reporting
- No analytics. Tidy includes no analytics or advertising SDKs.
- No tracking. Tidy does not track you across apps or websites, and collects
no identifiers for advertising. (
NSPrivacyTracking = false.) - Crash reports, if any, are provided only through Apple’s standard, opt-in crash reporting (visible to us as aggregated reports in Xcode). No third-party crash SDK is used.
When you tap Report a Problem, the app composes an email that you can read and edit before sending. It includes basic diagnostics (app version, iOS version, device model, and your last scan’s counts and timings) so we can help — never your photos or anything that identifies them. Nothing is sent unless you press send.
Children
Tidy is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
