TipVault

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 21, 2026

TipVault (“the app”, “we”) is an on-device tip and income tracker for iPhone, developed by Vladyslav Prykhodko. This policy explains what TipVault does — and does not do — with your information.

The short version

Your tips and shifts stay on your device. Everything you log — tips, hours, jobs, sales, tip-out, notes — is stored on your iPhone. There are no accounts and no sign-in, and your income data is never sent to us. If you turn on iCloud backup, your data is stored in your own private iCloud account through Apple — we still never see it.

The one thing we collect is anonymous, aggregate usage and diagnostic data about the app itself — never your tips, amounts, or notes — so we can find bugs and improve TipVault. Details are below.

Your tips, shifts, and income data

TipVault is built local-first. The data you enter is handled only on your device:

  • Your shifts, jobs, positions, totals, and notes are stored locally on your iPhone and are removed when you delete the app.
  • iCloud backup is optional and off until you choose it. When on, your data syncs through Apple’s CloudKit to your own private iCloud database — Apple’s infrastructure, tied to your Apple ID. We operate no server and have no access to it. It is a backup, never a requirement: the app works fully without it.
  • CSV export and import happen on the device. Exported files go only where you send them; imported files (including exports from other apps) are read on your iPhone and are not uploaded.

TipVault asks for no special permissions — no microphone, camera, photos, contacts, or location access.

Analytics and diagnostics

TipVault uses privacy-respecting services to collect anonymous, aggregate information about how the app is used and whether it’s working, so we can fix problems and decide what to improve:

  • Usage data (PostHog) — for example which screens and features are used, and in-app events such as logging a shift, viewing the paywall, or importing a file (counts and the step that occurred, not content).
  • Diagnostics and crashes (Sentry) — app version, iOS version, device model, and crash or error reports.

What this data never includes:

  • Your tips, amounts, hours, sales, tip-out, job names, notes, or anything you typed.
  • The contents of files you import or export.
  • Your name, email, contacts, or precise location.

This data is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and never for advertising. It is used only to operate and improve TipVault. You can turn analytics and crash reports off at any time in Settings ▸ Privacy inside the app.

Purchases

The TipVault Plus subscription is processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. TipVault does not receive or store your payment details. Apple’s handling of the purchase is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

Children

TipVault is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the new version at this URL.
