Common questions
Does it work offline? Do I need an account?
Yes, and no. Everything runs on your iPhone, with no account and no sign-in. Your tips and shifts never leave the device unless you turn on iCloud backup.
Where is my data stored? Can I lose it?
On your device. Optionally, you can turn on iCloud backup so it syncs to your own private iCloud across your devices. You can also export every shift to CSV for free at any time, so you always have a copy. See the privacy policy.
I’m switching from another tip app — can I bring my data?
Yes. Export your shifts as a CSV in your old app, then in TipVault go to Settings ▸
Backup ▸ Import from CSV and pick the file. TipVault matches the columns automatically and
lets you confirm before importing. (Exports that are PDF-only or Excel .xls need to be saved
as CSV first.)
How is “real hourly pay” calculated?
It’s your take-home tips — total tips minus tip-out — divided by the hours you worked. It’s the number that tells you what a shift actually paid.
What’s free, and what’s in TipVault Plus?
Free covers logging, daily and weekly totals, real hourly pay, tip-out math, the tax set-aside, and CSV export. Plus adds month and year history, multiple jobs, PDF income reports, and iCloud backup. More detail is on the subscription page.
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Open TipVault, go to the paywall, and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the same Apple ID you bought with.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: Settings ▸ [your name] ▸ Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Plus until the current period ends, and your logged shifts stay on your device either way.
